A rough and scary piece of our Morgan County, Tennessee history, a place you once never wanted to go, (a maximum security workplace many barely speak of) will soon  make its debut as a place to go for fun and entertainment.

Built in 1896, one of Tennessee ‘s most notorious prisons, Brushy Mountain State Penitentiary is especially known for housing James Earl Ray, the man convicted for shooting Martin Luther King Jr. The historical site will soon offer a little something for everyone including a distillery, bottled Brushy Mountain spring water, RV Park, campground, concert venue, Bed & Breakfast, museum, gift shop and horse stables…  you’ll even have select opportunities to experience a fright night or two, coming soon to those who dare!
