Historic Rugby Founders Day and Michaelmas Festival

Help celebrate 14 decades + since Rugby’s founding on the Cumberland Plateau in 1880, our 141st Anniversary! Nancy and Kat will be bringing their amazing Country Dogs food truck for your lunch enjoyment. Artists and crafters will be found throughout the Village. Founders Day awards will be presented at 3 p.m. Eastern (2 Central) in the Visitors Centre and at 3:30 will be a presentation of the new video, Discover Historic Rugby, to be shown in the Rebecca Johnson Theatre followed by a Q and A with Nancy Dorman, Development Committee Chair.
Hours are 10-5 EDT (9-4 Central). FREE. Take time to and enjoy arts, crafts, food, and music while exploring this lovely Victorian Village. Local artists and crafters will be here demonstrating their skills with the results of their talent available for purchase. The same day, Rugby’s Christ Church Episcopal is holding its annual Michaelmas Tea, with seatings at Noon & 2 Eastern/ 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Central at the Friendly House behind the church. Take-out tea goodies are now also available with reservation for pickup at 1:30 p.m. Eastern. Reservations for sit-down or pickup are $15 per person and need to be made by Thursday, Sept. 30.
